About سيسيميوت

سيسيميوت ، مدينة تقع في غرب وسط جرينلاند. على الساحل الشرقي لمضيق دافيس، على بعد حوالي 320 كم من شمال العاصمة نوك. يعني اسم «سيسيميوت» «المستعمرة القريبة من أرض بها ثعالب». عندما تأسست المدينة أطلق عليها الدنماركيون اسم هولستنيسبورج كما تعتبر المركز الإداري لبلدية كيكاتا، وثاني أكبر مدينة في جرينلاند، قُدٌر عدد سكانها بـ 5571 نسمة بحسب إحصائيات عام 2012. ينتمي سكانها الأصليين إلى شعب الإسكيمو صاحب ثقافة ساكاك وثقافة دورست وثقافة ثول. عاش شعب الإسكيمو في الموقع الحالي للمدينة خلال الـ4500 سنة الماضية، لذلك يعتبر أغلبية سكان المنطقة الحاليين من أحفاد شعب الإسكيمو. وقد تم العثور على العديد من القطع الأثرية في هذه المنطقة والتي تعكس وفرة الحياة البرية وخاصة الثدييات البحرية في هذا العصر. يظهر مزيج من السكان الأوربيين الدانماركيين والإسكيمو بوضوح في سيسيميوت. وقد تأسست بإعلان رسمي للمرة الأولى عام 1720 تحت قيادة المُبشِّر الدانماركي هانز أجد.
